PHOTOS: Aluminum Signs
Aluminum is the most
popular material used by sign companies for fabricating permanent
signs. It
is lighter, easier to cut and form, and it doesn't rust like steel.
There are also
composite materials which are made with a thin sheet of
aluminum adhered to one or both sides of a sheet of weatherproof
plastic or resin. These materials are very popular for the fabrication
of large sign panels, as they are rigid and perfectly flat, avoiding
unattractive wavy surfaces sometimes seen on otherwise high quality signage.
