The illuminated sign below is made with a thick aluminum face from which the letters have been routed. Attached to the back side of the routed face are translucent plexiglas panels which appear as colored letters.

The three illuminated signs below have flat white lexan faces with translucent vinyl lettering. The blue background on the Lutherie sign face is translucent blue vinyl with the letters cut out, allowing the white lexan to show through as white letttering.

The faces on internally illuminated (also called "backlit") signs below are pan-formed lexan. The top sign has white pan-formed faces decorated with translucent vinyl; the bottom sign has a clear lexan face sprayed with translucent sign paints on the back side.

The Harvest Moon sign is an example of an illuminated sign that lasts for decades. The new owner repainted the cabinet of this former Pepsi sign, and Aztec Signs provided the new lexan sign face, as well as the plastic letters on the building.
